Customs and Courtesies

1. The position of honor is on the right. Therefore, those senior in rank should walk on the right.

2. The salute is a greeting between military personnel.

3. All cadets will render the hand salute to the President, all commissioned and warrant officers of the United States Armed Forces (active duty and retired), to officers of friendly nations, and AFJROTC cadets from any group who are officers and higher in rank.
